Mozilla is also a suite of programs from what I remember... Has an HTML editor, Mail Client, Newsgroups, and also an address book. Oh ya, also the browser
As far as I know Firefox is just the browser.

Mozilla is more of a direct replacement for the Communicator suite of programs from Netscape. Has an HTML editor, email app, IRC client, etc.
Firefox is just a browser. Development of Mozilla is rather stagnant right now, because it's not as modular as Firefox is with its extension system. If you want newer features, Firefox will always have more. If you just want a replacement for IE or Netscape, Mozilla is fine. |

Firefox is merely a web browser. As I understand it once firefox reaches 1.0 Mozilla will drop it's current browser version and integrate firefox.
