I don't think it's a browser error as much as it is Windows Explorer - your operating system. I would first of all, do a full sys scan of your computer with yoru antivirus (UPDATED of course).

But it seems that i can even open any windows associated with IE even my document or my computer. I had this problem before. I redownload and reinstall IE. It works for awhile. Then, the same problem comes back over again!

I did a full scan of my computer but according to the antivirus software, no viruses were found. I really have no idea what's wrong with my IE.

Besides the antivirus check, which we assume is fully updated with the latest virus definitions, have you checked with any ad-ware or spy-ware remover? I'd suggest installation of Adaware SE and Spybot 1.3. Run them both and see if that helps. Then run an online virus scan at Housecall and see if that picks up any trojans or virii your installed software missed. Also recommend you have all the latest updates from Windows Updates.

Many folks have had problems running IE6 with 98se. I'm not among them. A solution many have found to work is to remove IE6 and go back to IE5.5.

IE6 on Win98 is a 50/50 proposition - I recommend you use add/remove programs, IE6 - and choose restore previous configuration to back it up to IE 5.x.

I'll give the Adaware and Spybot 1.3 a try. Maybe uninstall IE if those two a software don't work. There's another thing. It seems that I can't open a link in a new window. I have to copy the link and paste it to the IE address instead. Is there anything I could do about it?
