internet streaming
Hi i am trying to watch streaming video from the net via windows media player on xp mode and i connects then gives this message
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct. does anyone know how i can fix this so i can watch streaming vids and why it is doing this in the first place. thanks |

Are you behind a firewall (software/hardware) that could be blocking certain protocols? The safest option is to allow WMP to use any streaming protocol (WMP > TOOLS > OPTIONS > Network > check all protocols). If you are behind a router, try taking your machine out of it to see if it helps .. or if you have a s/w firewall other than the Windows firewall try disabling it.
Here are common WMP errors and codes: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...yererrors.aspx |
