Another Internet Explorer Problem
Here's the problem I am having. Whenever I want to open a link with a new Explorer window or click a link that is supposed to pop up in a new browser the window opens, but nothing happens. I have turned off my firewall, pop-up blockers and virus protection and still nothing.
Unfortunately, I need IE for my online course becuase it doesn't work with Netscape or Firefox. Does anyone know what I am forgetting to do here? I would really appreciate the help. I have deleted temp files, cookies, ran ad-aware and spybot. Someone suggesting running an error program, but I don't know how. I would run scandisk, but WinXP either doesn't have it or is hiding it somewhere. If all else fails I will have to run my system restore and I really don't want to go through all of that crap. |

Welcome to PC MECH
Your copy or version of IE, might be old or playing up. You could try updating IE by downloading the latest version. Or if you have a magazine coverdisk, see if it has an IE install file on it, they usually do. ---------------------- Your security settings might be set too high preventing some process the page is trying to run, or is it happening in other pages too? Security settings... Tools -> Internet Options -> Security Please note, changing these settings may deem your computer to be less protected, decide on the air of caution. |
