For all you Thunderbird users out there: Does 1.0 support multiple SMTP servers? For some reason, I could use multiple IMAP/POP3 servers to retrieve my mail, however they allow sending through only one preferred SMTP server.

Hi Statica,
I just posted your question in the Thunderbird Support section of the Mozillazine forum so you should have a complete answer at some point.

Thanx for taking the time, but nothing's changed really in 1.0 for SMTP server handling, it's rather idiotic to just have a bunch of SMTP servers and no particular way to associate mails from each account other than manual (or extension handling). It becomes increasingly idiotic when dealing with IMAP accounts and storing in/out/drafts on server.

That is why I am thankful that all my email accounts use the same SMTP server, even if Thunderbird wanted multiple accounts, they would all be the same. It's good to see Thunderbird is 1.0 as well.

Since it's listed as one of the things they're working on I'd say someone, well more than "one", agrees with you.
