Hi
What do I do after I extract a zip file? where to put it? should I create a new folder for the extracted file or what? and is there a need to create a new folder for every zip file that I extract? what are your recommendations?

Thank you.

Well, as Mum told us, the tidier you are, the easier it is to find things. When you extract, the Zip dialog box will ask or prompt you where to put it. Put it in whatever file
seems the most obvious, for that item. Programs, Temp,Downloads, etc or create and name a new one maybe only if its a new category. Is this what you are asking?

It depends on what is in the Zip file.

Here is what I do:

  • Zip file containing a program - create a directory called c:/temp or something similar. Unzip the files into c:/temp. Install the program, delete all the files in c:/temp and save the zip file to a download folder.
  • Zip file containing data files (that don't need to be installed) - unzip them to a directory that contains all of your other data files.
