dial-up woes
OK I have a Dell Latitude CPx laptop, I'm connecting using dial-up through earthlink, now it says its connected to the net, however, I am unable to view web pages or update media like spybot. All settings for the modem and Internet Explorer are to the specifications of Earthlink. Any help in the matter is greatly appreciated.
Its running Win 98se |

Try running winsockxpfix (yes, it works on 98) - Google it for download location. It fits on a floppy.

Also, you may want to make sure your computer is clean of any malware (viruses, etc.), that causes a lot of headaches as well.
