Hi,
I am trying to put a flash5 guestbook into my site. I seem to be having trouble editing the book.cgi file in the cgi-bin with the path to the cgi-bin. This is what the instructions tell me to do: ____________________________________________________________ "Change the $basedir to reflect the $basedir on your server. Here is how I changed mine: $basedir="/web/sites/381/username/www.devinechaos.f2s.com/cgi-bin/"; Note: when changing this line DO NOT use your website address like http://www.mysite.com/guestbook.hmtl or http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/guestbook.html your correct $basedir will look something like mine. The most important thing to do is to add the cgi-bin/ to your $basedir ____________________________________________________________ I have contacted my server and they have told me this: Remote Host Directory /yourusername-www/ Script URL http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/script.pl Home directory /home/yourusername/yourusername-www/ I have tried a few combinations and none seem to work. Any help would be appreciated. (Hope the above is understandable!) Thanks |

What kind of error do you get?
Here is a link for help with cgi scripts. The most frequent errors are that the scripts aren't executable or that the path is incorrect. Also tell you us who your host is. |

I am not getting any error messages. The guestbook just doesn't do anything after the pre loader!
I am with devilnet (UK). |
