If you search the forums, there's a few threads where members have listed some websites.

One I use is garageband.com

Comprehensive link list to torrent tracker sites.

Most are up, some are down. You can find any torrent you need by using these links.

Rightcoast, you might want to edit out that link unless you want it to be done by a mod and then receive a warning.

I would be most apologetic if I broke any fourm rules, and am if I did. I use bittorrent to download free music all the time. I do not pirate copyrighted music however, I only DL tunes under a Creative Commons license, or Linux distros and such. I suggest everyone do the same, I do not advocate piracy. Free doesn't always mean pirated and I was giving the parent poster the benefit of the doubt.

Also the link does not link to a site which hosts trackers. My site (or PCMECH for that matter) does not host trackers. This isn't even a legal grey area area, it is a white one. I understand however, what is legal may still be against the rules. If it was against forum rules, please accept my apologies, and of course, edit if nessesary.

Also in addition to the above reasons I thought it was OK.... I am not trying to be manipulative, just literal. I don't see any reference to music in the forum rules below.

NO WAREZ. NO SERIALS. NO CRACKS / CRACKING / ILLEGAL PROGRAMS. Anything that can be used in software piracy or other illegal software activities will result in a ban. Same goes for abusive programs like mailbombers, forum and usenet flooders and email harvesting bots. This also includes unreleased products. Workarounds which comprimise security, bypass password protection, or otherwise go to gain unauthorized access to private data or information is prohibitied. Links provided to locations that offer tutorials or tips for any of these activities are also forbidden.

I understand your points. I don't really care what anyone downloads, what you do with your bandwidth is up to you. I was just trying to help you avoid receiving a warning because the fact is that by following links from the site, you are on sites which all it takes is one click to download a torrent for pirated materials.

Unless there is a way to it besides the icon on the bottom right next to quote, I think the period of time I had to edit is expired. I suppose I have to leave it in the hands of a mod, with apologies for the extra work, if needed, and assurances no harm was meant.

The links do provide ways to get illegal material, but the rules might need editing, either way MSN might have some free music.

Sorry, rightcoast. That sort of link doesn't really belong here.

As for the rest of you, please simply hit the "report post" button. It won't get folks as riled up about these things.
