More IE wierdness..

Last nite, while viewing the Specfest 2004 thread, I got an error message that IE was shutting down. Started back up and came back to the same place here, crashed again. Checked a couple other sites and no problems. Back to PC Mech and everything was fine til I went to the Specfest thread again. After a few minutes, same error message and shut down. Ran System File Checker, came back here and bang! error again.

No problems on PC Mech all day today and tonite. Then I was on the phone talkin with my friend Pounder and we both were checking out the Specfest thread. Guess what? I got the Error message again! So while I'm cussin out the computer and tellin Pounder about last nite, BANG! he gets the same error message and his IE shuts down!

So my question to everyone is this: Anyone else had an IE error message/shutdown while viewing Specfest? Or have any idea what may have caused this? (and all you alternative browser users can save your "dump IE" comments!)

its the website

I think the website might be using weird code and dlls to run their site, and if it happened on both of your machines, its probably their problem and not yours.

Dump IE j/k

You got this standard error message? "IE is shutting down, send report blah blah"?
Did you upgrade IE? (the sp1 thing)

This sounds like an unfixable problem :confused, too:

Yea, we are both running SP2. And I ran sfc/scannow to repair any files. Didn't help.

I don't see any questionable code in that thread.

Just a random hiccup, perhaps?
