fqpissed Internet Explorer Minimized

Hi, when I log on to the internet, my internet explorer box
always comes up minimized, like half the screen. I'm running
IE 5 sp2. I've tried maximizing and stretching the screen before
I log off, and looked all over for settings, can't find anything.
It's not big problem, just annoying because I can't figure it out.
Thanks for any help.

Hi mac_22,

This is a big bug in IE that has yet to be fixed and gets on a lot of people's nerves. There is no real way to fix it. Sometimes maximizing IE and then closing it and reopening it will work, but not always. Hope that helps.

I think he is talking about the initially opened window. On your shortcuts to IE, right click and select properties. Beside Run: set to Maximum. Do this with ALL shortcuts. After that, the initially opened IE Window should be maximized. Opening a new window when you click on a link will not. Still trying to figure that one out.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was a bug. I had this problem about a year ago but it went away after maximizing and closing a couple times, I'll try the maximum thing with the shortcuts.

Thanks alot

HAL,

The thing is, when you right click and choose properties on IE you get the Internet Explorer Properties, not the standard one that lets you choose start size.

Yes, if you click on Internet Explorer, but not on the IE shortcuts. This will allow the Window to be initially opened maximized. The problem that you stated comes in when you go to open another window by clicking on a link or right clicking on a link and opening a new Window.

Reset New Browser Window Size

Sometimes Internet Explorer 5 "decides" to remember the wrong size for a new window. Whatever you do, you can't seem to get it to remember a normal size.

You can fix this:

1.Close all instances of Internet Explorer
2.Start the Registry Editor
3.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main
4.Delete the value Window_Placement
5.Exit the Registry Editor
