Webserver on a network
ok, I have a wireless network in my home, their are currently two computer running on it. My computer also runs a web server on it. Now normally I could access the site by typing in my IP address on any browser, but now that I have the network my IP's are network IP's and the IP that I do have is one for the router. Now, is their any way that I could access the web server any other way? Also I enjoy using the remote desktop through WinXP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Justin |

From inside your network, you need to access the webserver using the local IP, from outside, you use the real IP. To give the webserver and remote desktop access to the outside world, you have to forward the correct ports in your router.

sounds good, I thought it was something like that but I wasn't going to fool around with my router settings just incase I messed things up and allowed some port to be opened that I wouldn't want opened normally
