IE not default browser

I can't figure this one out. I installed firefox, I liked it, but it didn't integrate with one of my programs I have like IE did. So I uninstalled it, now, whenever say, yahoo messenger finds new email, I click on goto mail, or whatever it says. And nothing happens. It won't open up a window and goto yahoo. I have checked in internet options, and it says check to see if ie is default browser. I have associated html files with ie, but still nothing. Any ideas?

It "shouldn't" hurt to try the suggestions here:

Have you gone to Start -> Set Program Defaults and access and made sure that says that IE the default (and not Current Web Browser or something, since that still be firefox).
