Thunderbird help
Currently I use Outlook 2002 for my e-mail. I have recently started getting a lot of junk mail so I want to switch to Thunderbird so I can use its junk mail filters. My only problem is when I receive some messages in Thunderbird they are purely text when I receive this exact same e-mail in outlook it is structured with paragraphs, backgrounds, and hyperlinks all of which don’t work with Thunderbird. Any ideas?
Thanks -Michael |

Go to Options > Advanced > Block loading of remote images of mail messages to view all the graphics.
Mind you, there is a reason why it's blocked. In today's world, it is no longer necessary to respond to a spam message to get your mailbox confirmed to the spammers. By simply loading up an image that comes from a remote server (and isn't attached to the email), you have automatically given confirmation of the existence of your email address - and helpfully supplied them with your IP address as well. That is why Outlook express post SP2, automatically blocks remote images, that is why most good webmails like Hotmail will automatically block images from remote servers... and that is why you should leave that setting on. The rule of thumb should be that if the picture wasn't attached, then you shouldnt be touching it. |
