1) I think they require a pay account for forwarding
2) I don't think there's a problem asking that question, as the "ban" only pertains to gmail invite offers/solicitations. As to this question, I think gmail, like yahoo/hotmail will need to be a pay-type account to use POP3 (outlook). As now, in it's beta stage, I haven't looked. I think there are prog's out there that will import web-based mail into POP3 format, but I haven't used/messed with any of them.

The simplest explanation is to login to your Gmail account. Click on the HELP link (upper right corner) Read the section on POP. It will give you configuration information. |

I set up gmail in outlook but then I deleted it. I found that although outlook makes hotmail better, I prefer to use gmail from their site.
Thanks for the help though. If I cant set hotmail and yahoo to forward my messages, then can I set gmail to recieve the messages without doing anything to hotmail and yahoo? Because yahoo and hotmail will allow me to recieve messages from my other accounts to hotmail, so I want to know if I can do the same with gmail. Sorry if that was confusing |

Fine, is it possible, using hotmail or outlook, to forward all the messages of a folder at once, but all going as seperate messages?

do you mean, when you check your mail with outlook, to set it up so certain emails are directed to different folders?
If so, then yes. Look for Tools > Message Rules > Mail

no, I mean that for example, I have a folder in hotmail/outlook for all my pcmech newsletters and tips. So now I changed my subscribtion so that all my pcmech emails go to my gmail account, but I dont want all my old emails in one account and all my new emails in the other account, so I want to forward all my pcmech emails from my hotmail/outlook account to my gmail account. however, since there must be a hundred emails in that folder, I dont want to forward them one my one, so I want to know if I can forward the whole folder at once.
There, I hope I explained it better. |
