Ok, I don't know if this will work with Outlook but it does with outlook express. If it doesn't, you can get em to outlook express, then to Outlook.
Go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Account\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\Your Profile\Mail\Local Folders

If you are trying to get you Inbox you're looking for a file labeled Inbox. Right click on it and select open. I will ask what program you want to open it. Select Outlook or Outlook Epress. If Outlook doesn't work try Outlook express then you can import to Outlook. It's a lot of work but thats the only way I can find to do what you want.

They're wrong about one thing, Outlook express will open their mail files. I've tried it.
