Trouble with IE, need some advice!

When trying to get on my favorite hobby forum IE just seems to sit there, as if it can't find the URL?
Yet if I open up Mozilla Firefox browser, the same problemic URL in IE comes up right away! This tells me its not the forum server, but the browser, so is there anything I could change in the options?

Our computer is set up for all the family members, and I tried opening up the forums in one of my daughters accounts, and it came up right away in her IE!

I looked at the "Privcy" tab in the "Options" part, and they look the same to me...and in the "Security" part of the options mine is open to even more than hers..and it still has trouble with the URL?
Eventually, if I wait for more than a minute or minute and a half it will come up...but it looks real weird, with alot of "X"'s where graphics usually are.

I've just had this computer for a few days, and most things seem to be working fine...except for this issue.

Any help/comments/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Dale

Have you run any malware scans yet?
If you have which ones? Updated? Safe mode or no?

If you haven't done any malware scans, download Adaware SE and Spybot Search and destroy. Scan with those programs. Do a virus scan. try cleaning out your temp internet files.

Yep...already did that, and had to re-enter my name and password to get back on here!

I do have a "Webroot" Spy Sweeper program on my computer which I have ran. Not sure if it is as good as Adaware or Spybot type programs though?

Cleaning the temp files seem to have made no difference...yet!

Still looking..

Thx..

Dale

It's a very good program, use the other ones mentioned here as well. Update them and scan in safe mode as well. Try CWS shredder as well you can get it here. Be sure that is updated as well.

At least then that part of the troubleshooting process can be eliminated.
