Trouble with IE add-ons

Tonight I started having problems with add-ons in IE - how do I get around this? It only happens on some sites. message says IE encountered a problem (file - PDF.OCX)

I'm running XP home

I have 6 on - is there a newer version? could it not be the site is the problem?

It usually isn't the website issue - unless you are using an old vulnerable version of PDF.OCX (it's vulnerable to buffer overflows and such exploits). If you are using 6.0.0 then you need to update it to 6.0.3
