fqpissed only see old page?

I am running Netscape 4.76 and when I access one of my bookmarks I get a page that is a week old. I have cleared the disk cache and deleted the temp internet files. I have tried IE5.5 as well?? This only happens on this one bookmark.
Thanks in advance

Firstly are u sure that the ppl who made the run the site did update the page and/or change the date?

Try pressing the left shift and click REFRESH/RELOAD on your browsers to reload.

Only see old page

Thanks for the reply Statica
I emailed the page administrator and the page has been updated. I tried it on
my daughters computer which is networked to mine and hers loads it ok.
I tried the left shift and reload but no help. I reinstalled netscape. It seems like the page is saved somewhere on my drive and only loads that page. I have other bookmarks like the news that work fine???

Angry Fire

having EXACTLY the same problem as Dick with Netscape 4.76 and just ONE site. Yes it was updated. When I e-mailed the page co-ordinator, he almost had a heart attack, thinking his update was not showing. I shut down my computer, logged back on in about a 1/2 hour, and it still showed old page. This has happened before, with this same site......but not always. Hitting reload did absolutely nothing to change it, tho I tried at least a half dozen times.
I shut down, then 2 hours later when I logged back on, there was the new page, just as it should be.

Sure would appreciate any help.

Smile only see old page

I found the culprit. there was a netscape file called hosts in c:\windows called
hosts and I opened it with notepad. It listed all my bookmarks. I deleted the line for the offending bookmark and now I get the fresh page???
I can't recommend this because I haven't a clue if this is the proper way to rectify the problem but it was a last ditch attempt before a reformat.
Thanks to all the guys and gals that answer the questions. As a 60 year old putterer I find the forums to be a great help!
Bye fer now

This will happen if you are using any kind of "web accelerator" software - get rid of it if this is the case and get rid of everything in that hosts file.

fqpissed

Nope, do not have a web accellerator. Just happened again yesterday. What really puzzles me is that hitting the reload (this is Netscape 4.76) does not actually reload the page. It will just stay the same. This only happens at this one site.
Any other site (such as a message board) will reload instantly. Everything will be fine for a couple of days - (this page changes every day) and then it will happen again.

You are probably having that problem because the ISP is caching the pages.
Even if you hit refresh you will still get the cached page.
