Internet Explorer doesn't dial up automatically...can anyone help please??

Hi I just reinstalled all my software on a new PC and now when I click on the Internet Explorer icon, the little dial up networking dialog box doesn't come up. It just opens IE and doesn't dial the internet.

The only thing that I think may have caused this is that when I installed Windows, I had no modem connected. Would this cause the problem?

Thanks

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Go to Control Panel, Internet Options, then the Connections tab, make sure "Always dial my default connection" is selected and make sure your the dialup connection you want to connect to is the default.

I would recommend that you do NOT do this. Drag a shortcut to your dialup connection out to the desktop or the quicklaunch and connect MANUALLY prior to opening IE or whatever. Reason? If you pick up spyware or a Trojan, it's gonna trigger your dialup and cause you grief.
