ftp servers

I recently set up a ftp server on my PC so that I can easily access the files when I need them in school. However, when files get bigger than 20 MB, I find them taking a little too long to download since the transfer speed is 14 KB/s. Is there anyway I can increase the transfer speed?

The transfer speed is limited by the UPSTREAM bandwidth of your connection - sounds like yours is 128kb/s. See if your ISP offers an upgrade.

I see. My upstream bandwidth is really 128 kb/s. Looks like I need an upgrade. Thanks.
