Try scanning for spyware. There could be something lodged in IE.

Well the thing is that is has been doing this for a week now. I've been scanning with adaware, MS, and spybot. I've done virus scans. All my programs are fully up to date. All windows updates have been downloaded. Popup blocker is set to block all popups. This thing isn't really a popup it's, what I think they call, a floating ad.

Nothing here - and I use Opera with popups *allowed* but set to pop behind instead of in front.

Firefox blocks pop ups. Do you have the AdBlock extension in Firefox also?

You need to install some AdBlocking software

No Verizon popup here, in IE or FireFox.

Got rid of it. There wasa cookie that was comming through. Told IE to block that cookie and it quit popping up. What I couldn't figure out is why IE was letting it come up when Firefox wouldn't. I have the pop up blockers on both browsers set to block all popups. Well I got the problem fixed, that's all that matters.

Popup blockers don't block cookies.

I know. That popup had the site it was originating from on it, so sine the popup blocker wasn't blocking it. I took a long shot that since I wasn't turning up any spyware on my system with these 3 spyware scanners I have that may, just maybe it was a cookie making it come up. So I told IE to block all cookies originating from that site and the ad disappeared, and has not come back.
