New Firefox Build
The Firefox security issue for international domain names has been fixed. The update is not available yet through the update option in Tools>Options>Advanced, but a new build is available which prevents the spoofing that is shown here:
http://secunia.com/multiple_browsers_idn_spoofing_test/ After fixing the vulnerability, it now shows in address as the true name. In addition users that want to completely disable international domain naming can set to false "network.enableIDN" in about:config, if you don't have need for international domain naming at all. If you don't have a need for IDN, which I don't, it prevents them from opening period. Firefox 1.0.1 here: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ |
