Address Bar
I am running Windows XP Pro, and IE6. Normally when I click that little downward arrow to the right of the address bar, I get a drop down menu of the last few sites I had typed in. Every now and then that function does not work. All I get is a blank drop down menu. Then as I type the new site address such as CNN.com it will stay for a few days again and then disappear again. The same think happens when I click Start, Run. Most of the times "msconfig" will be there because I use it a lot. Then the next day, it will be gone, and I have to type it in again. Any suggestions on what is going on ? I have AVG and update daily. I also update and run Ad-Aware and Spybot every few days.

If you are removing the "negligible objects" when you use Ad-Aware, that will do it. This removes all the "MRU" (most recently used) entries.

At least on Firefox, you have an option where cookies and your history are delted every 6 to 7 days. Its in Tools, options. I turned mine to like 1000 days because I want to keep mine...

Thanks for the replies.
glc--I have been removing all the objects that Ad-Aware finds. Will start only removing the "crirical ones" to see if that makes a difference. Thanks Again !! |
