Duck Hunt Virus?
I am sure I have some sort of malware or virus, but adaware, spybot S&D, and Norton's 2004 don't find anything. The reason for search, is my computer seems to be running slow. It's the one listed in my sig. I have owned the computer for it's entire life, and I haven't installed anything stupid like P to P stuff.
The other clue is that every other day or so, when I'm doing a bunch of stuff (listening to WMP, surfing the net, and using a couple of other programs) I get this sound through the speakers, and I swear it's the sound that the dog used to make when you'd miss the duck on Duck Hunt for the origional Nintendo. It's the craziest thing. I have all the sound profiles disabled so no program makes noise. The only noise I get it an ocasional pc beep, and my music. Any ideas? |

Maybe it's an over heating warning sound

That would be interesting. Not sure if it's at all possible, but something to try after this all gets cleared up. I could sell that to nostalgic computer hacks...
