Firefox Zone Alarm Alert

Hiya folks,

I have attached a screen print of the Zone Alarm alert I'm getting when browsing with Firefox (occurs on random pages while loading). This has just started happening recently (i.e. the last few days) and I'm curious as to why. The only thing I've changed in the last few days is I added another 512MB of RAM and I'm now running in dual channel (see sig for details). Other than that, no changes at all (hardware or software). The alert doesn't seem to affect anything and I click deny every time I see it. I can still browse, download, etc... normally when denied.

Any ideas? Should I just say "Allow" and "Remember this setting" and never worry about it again? Or should I deny it permenently? I'm only asking because it's happening all of a sudden and I can't seem to figure out what's causing it.

Thanks all,
Stryker

No problem, but I would kind of like to know why it has started popping up all of a sudden. As I said, nothing has really changed.

Anyone know the cause?
Thanks again,
Stryker

You didn't happen to upgrade to 1.0.2 right before this happened. When I upgraded last night I had to readjust my ZoneAlarm to allow Firefox access again.

It's asking for server rights - I'd be wary about granting it. Mine never has, but I don't use Firefox much.

That's what I thought, and this is why I asked. It's the same kind of alert you get with things like MSN and P2P networks. I have denied it permanently and everything is still working fine. Perhaps an attempt at something naughty by someone looking to cause some trouble?

Doesn't Firefox have a thing where it automatically check for updates for itself and extensions?

That it does, but I have it disabled for both updates and extensions to avoid unexpected issues such as this.

I though it did, couldn't remember, I don't use it that much. I can't figure out what it would need server access for. The updates are the only thing i can think of. I remember it asking for it on my laptop though. It doesn't have it now since i formatted my hardrive on this thing. Hasn't asked for it yet, but GLC has scared me, it isn't gonna get it.

Checking for updates and extensions does not ask for server rights. I just did a manual check.

ok, well this problem really don't affect me anymore. I used firefox a good bit when it came out, not so much anymore. I found Maxthon. I just like IE based browsers better, dunno why. I wish I could find an outlook express base email program that has a spam filter like thunderbird. The spam filter is the only reason i have any use for Tbird.
