Hotmail, cookie problems....?
Anybody else having problems with hotmail, or is it just me??
When I try to sign in I get "Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. To use .NET Passport, you must enable cookies." I have changed nothing. My privacy is set to medium. Is it the site or is it my computer? I ran Spybot and AVG and it came up with no viruses. Anyone know what is going on??

Have you tried clearing your cache and deleting all your cookies? I'd also try another browser; what browswer are you currently using?

Actually, yes, I deleted my cookies yesterday, and it let me log on a few times and then came back with that "Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. To use .NET Passport, you must enable cookies" crap. I'm using IE 6, and have never had a problem before. I downloaded an emulator the other day, maybe it screwed up my system??

Check with your IP if other than MSN Hotmail
Quote:
What this means is that I had to go into MS Outlook Express and set up a separate account for my hotmail--no biggee--otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to send messages via them. If your IP is other than MSN Hotmail, then you need to contact your IP for specific instructions on what to do. If Hotmail is all you use, then, depending on your OS, let's assume you're using XP, go into your IE browser\Tools\Internet Options\Privacy tab\Advanced button and put a checkmark in the "Override Automatic Cookie Handling" box. This will light up the options of how you want your browser to handle cookies...and may make it so that you can get more in line with what Hotmail is requiring. Good luck, |

I think I found out what the problem was. The link for hotmail I was using in my bookmarks went bad or something. I can always log on from the link on the msn page without problem. Maybe when they did some updates, some of the old links died. Thanks.
