Yeah I read that. I'm giving Opera another shot; if glc uses it exclusively all these moons it's worth an honest chance by my paranoia.

Well, I'm not jumping ship,

However, because the Mozilla Foundation controls all of the sites in the default software installation whitelist, it has been able to take preventative action by placing more checks in the server-side Mozilla Update code and moving the update site to another domain. Users who have not added any additional sites to their software installation whitelist are no longer at risk, the Foundation says.

I've used Opera in the past and it is a very good browser.
I've been using Firefox and will stay with it unless it gets to be like IE and has to be patched continually.

http://www.mozilla.org/security/anno...sa2005-42.html is a temporary fix. The patch should be out soon enough.

IMO, Such critical vulnerabilities to software should not be the reason to jump ship immediately, lack of appropriate attention and timely patches should be the reason to jump ship. A user, in today's internet world cannot be so reactionary to something that is a concept bug, and that is not actively seeking the user. Firefox has had 16 vulnerabilities from 2003, Opera has had 33, and IE has had 64.
