another NS web authoring dilema

I have these little "tables" that I use as headers for my sections. (i.e. http://www.lust4lennon.com/index2.htm)

If I try to use style sheets, they work fine in Opera, but NS balloons the height of the tables making them twice as high.

Using the old Font/size/color tags, NS is fine.

The line I am using (as it appears)

(font color=#000000 )(b)(i) Back online... (/i)(/b)(/font)

(with default being Arial, small).

The style sheet I am TRYING to use reads:

{ font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; font-style: italic; color: #000000; font-weight: bold; text-align: left; vertical-align: middle}

If I use the SS it would appear (in NS) like:

http://www.lust4lennon.com/mainframe1SS.htm

The actual text appears correctly (unchanged), but the table goes loopy on me.

As I said, Opera works fine.

Any help from a NS guru would be appreciated.

Add a height attribute to your table such as....
Height="20"

Then all browsers should read it correctly

I tried; I can, indeed, increase the table heighth using Height="xy" so that Opera will look like NS, but I can't reduce the table heighth in NS to look like it does in Opera.

I tried taking the value adown to 10, 5, 2, and 0 and it didn't change.

50, 75, and 100 worked, but.....8-)

It's just annoying; I'm always trying to stay complienent and I hate to use a font/style/color/size line just to make NS happy.
