IP Aliasing on a Window 2000 machine
Im trying to see if I can pull off IP aliasing on my Windows 2000 system, which is currently functioning as a server, but most of the googling ive been doing has pointed to Linux. So that leads my inital question to be, is it even possible to do this in Windows 2000? and If it is, how?
TIA, CN

What do you mean by IP aliasing? Do you want a static IP? Do you want to access two different sites on the same server (can be implemented by putting the second one on a different port than Port 80)? Or do you want something else?

Well IP aliasing bascially means putting more than one IP on the same physical NIC. (ie one computer with one NIC can have 192.168.1.101 and 192.168.1.102, etc). Although now that I realize that im behind a router, that concept is almost pointless. I have been working on an alternate port, but Im having difficulty setting that up in apache.

Yeah, i figured it out in the .httpd control file. I just simply set apache to listen on port 80 and 81, and set each port to a specific root directory. The problems were because of apache's default settings, since they are tuned to having only one website.
