Detect logged on user

Is there anyway I can code in ASP or ASP.net or Coldfusion, etc. to detect the user currently logged on to the machine requesting the data?

I don't see how a server could get local system variables but I'm curious if it's possible.

Example: ServerA has data at servera.domain.com and I am logged on to my workstation as "DOMAIN/kramers". I want to go to a page say http://servera.domain.com/detectuser.asp and have it say "Hello DOMAIN/kramers" or just "Hello kramers".

Many thanks,

Seth
