Can I negate my Wireless Router
I have a D-Link DI-514 Air 802.11bWireless Router. I have 3 computers running off this one router. All of the computers are tied in by a hard line and they are not using the Router by means of wireless.
There is a major corporation near by and they are transmitting a powerful signal that I believe is drowning my signal out at times. Is there a way to change the settings of this Router to make it function only as a Router that uses a hard lines (wires)? I guess what I am asking may be is there a way to negate or disengage the wireles portion of the Router and make it function merely as a standard Router? Thanks |

if you go into you routers configuration page (via a web browser), there is usually an option somewhere in there to disable the wireless function, i know there is in mine. It is just a little clicky box to turn it off.

i forgot to add, if you havent enterred your config page for your router b4, you documentation that came with your router should include connection instructions, along with the default username and password

Go to http://192.168.0.1 and login using your password (username should be 'admin'), if you havent set a password its usually blank.
Click on Wireless from the left and select Disabled... then Apply the settings. FYI there is an emulator here: http://support.dlink.com/emulators/d..._wireless.html |
