Browser cache size

What do people generally set their web browser cache size to? I'm especially interested in those who have broadband connections, i.e. have little need for minimizing download bandwidth use.

I tend to set it to around 50 MB. Too low?

I use 80 MB but my reason is a little weak. That's the size recommended at PC Pitstop when you run a system analysis! I started using 80 a couple years ago and now as a last step after working on someone's computer, I run a full test at the Pitstop just to verify that I didn't miss anything.

If and when it reaches it's limit, it starts over riding what's in there.

You could clear out the cache. Go for a couple of days and see how much space is used and go from there.

For grins and cause I was bored, I set my temp files to go to a ramdisk. Speeds things up a little bit and the files get cleared out when I shutdown.

I have mine set at 100MB. Nice round number. It definately helps on dialup.

As for broadband, you can live without it being so large. However, with today's high amount of graphical content, you may want the cache fairly large so it isn't constantly overwriting itself because of all the media that gets downloaded.
