Some websites don't load at all
Some websites won't connect on my computer in either firefox or IE. The sites include but is not limited to:
http://www.warwickpoker.com http://www.city.ac.uk They work fine on my mums computer which goes through the same router. I have also checked the router settings to make sure no sites or keywords are blocked and they aren't. I have run both spybot and ad-aware but they find nothing, and Norton doesn't find any viruses either. My friend on the same ISP as me says the sites work fine (which you would expect, as they work on my mums computer) I run Windows XP, service pack 2 (same as my mum), usually use Firefox, AMD 3200, 512MB Ram, ATI Radeon 9800... Any ideas because I am lost with this one... Thanks Rupert |

Certainly a strange one
I'd be checking: -- hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) for anything suspicious -- checking all of your security software was up to date. Ad-Aware and Spybot dont serve much purpose unless you click Update Expect you've done that already though, and this isn't much help ![]() Cheers Jim

Can you get to - http://137.205.210.243/poker/ or http://138.40.3.21/
If so, and you have no problems as suggested by Jim, then you might want to try flushing your DNS cache. Open a command prompt and type ipconfig/flushdns |

Nothing suspicious in hosts, all security software is up to date.
The IPs dont work, and the websites dont work after flush either...

My apologies but it seems I havent been telling the whole truth.
This is what loads on warwickpoker: HTML Code:
<HTML><HEAD> <META NAME="description" content=""> <META NAME="keywords" content=""> <TITLE>University of Warwick Poker Society</TITLE> </HEAD> <FRAMESET ROWS="100%,*" BORDER="0" FRAMEBORDER="0"> <FRAME SRC="http://www.sunion.warwick.ac.uk/poker/" SCROLLING="AUTO" NAME="bannerframe" NORESIZE> </FRAMESET> <NOFRAMES> University of Warwick Poker Society <P> <DIV ALIGN="CENTER"><A HREF="http://www.sunion.warwick.ac.uk/poker/">http://warwickpoker.com/</A></DIV> </NOFRAMES> </HTML> But FF returns "Connection Refused" on city.ac.uk Another site, http://extempore.livejournal.com also returns "Connection Refused" however on occassion I can get onto this website. |
