Why can I download only 2 files simultaneously off websites, and not more?
When surfing the net and downloading either movie clips, mp3s, and/or game demos off of various websites (at the same time), I'm only able to download a quantity of just 2 files at once (no matter what website I'm on, or what I'm downloading). How can I change this "2-file-download-limitation" so I can download a quantity of perhaps, say, 5 files at once, or more? I have a broadband connection (Cable), with a download-speed of up to 500 k/s; so, naturally I'd like to put this speed to use and download more than just 2 measely files at a time. I could see an obvious problem in downloading multiple files simultaneously if I was on a turtle-speed modem (28k, 33k, or 56K dial-up), but since I'm not, I need to fix this!

You should get the complete configuration set. Scroll down to network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server and increase it from 2 to something like 8. |
