Anything out there better than Comcast?

Hello all,
Im going to be moving soon and want to know if theres anything out there thats better than comcast. I have had there service before and it really sucked. Internet was down all the time, things were really slow sometimes, and the price. Freaken $60 a month, thats outragous. Is there a good DSL company that I could look at. I really dont want to spend more than $20-25 a month for a good connection. TIA.

You didn't mention where you are moving to...But more than likly you'll have several DSL providers to choose from.

I love the Comcast service I've had for the past three years. The extra cost for the extra bandwidth is worth the extra $ compared to DSL...

If comcast would lower there price so it wasnt more than 3 times the cost of DSL I would probably buy there service again. But that much for non-reliable internet every month is just outragous. Iv been looking at some DSL services and SBC is looking pretty good.

Where are ya in Michigan, Tophinator? I use Comcast and seldom have a service problem. Earlier this year they bumped up the speeds from 3200/256 to 4200/384 with no increase in price. I already had Comcast cable for the TV so the internet service is "only" $42/mo. with all the taxes and extras. When you're checking out SBC's dsl package, be sure to ask how far you're located from a node. The farter away you are, the slower your speed. I have a co-worker down near Dorr using SBC and his download speed is only 384 cuz he's the farthest possible from the node. Normally his speed should be around 1200-1300.

Look for municipal city cable internet serivce providers. Through my city I get 384k down/128up minimum at all times uncapped service, so it usually spikes from 7mbps-10mbps down and 500k-1mb up for $30 a month.
