Question On Dial-up

Is it possible for two computers using different phone jackes,to be online at the same time? Is there a work around? thanks

None that I've ever heard of. The work around is to get a second line, but then the expense is enough that you could probably switch to broadband with a router and make life much better in the process. -- That's exactly why I switched to DSL years ago as it was cheaper than a second line + dialup.

You can share a dialup connection using ICS or a dialup router such as the Actiontec, but you cannot dial up on a phone line that's already in use, the modem won't get a dial tone.

thanks, I figured you could't, but seems how I'm back to dial up for a while I figured I ask...... If you share a dial up connection, the load times for pages will it be reduced?

Yes and no. Depends on how each person is using the connection at the (same) time. When I was using ICS, I didn't really notice much of a difference, but then, my wife didn't "work" the Net as I did. If two people are heavy users, then yes you'll notice.
