firefox help

I am using the newest version of firefox. When downloading programs, the download manager only gives me the option to save file to...., not open with. My question is, is there anyway to get the open with option to work.

Only way I know to do it is when you right click on whatever it is you're wanting to download, instead of clicking "save link as", click on the "open in new tab" or "open in new window" option instead. Dunno if that's what you're looking for but its the only way I know of.

Programs as in .exe? I could be wrong, but I don't think you have the option of "open with" for executables. You have to save them to the disk and then run them.
