How to upload webpage files to server
I want to upload the webpage I am working on to my Comcast
server so I can put a link to it in a post here. I save the page as 'webpage complete' and it saves the HTML in one file and all the images in a separate folder. When I upload the HTML file it doesn't pick up the image files. ie. the uploaded link only displays empty frames where the images should be. I don't think I can upload both files since they will then be in two different links. Will I have to publish the page to achieve this ? Thanks. |

Are you sure that in your html code you have typed in the correct, full location of the images?
And that the images are uploaded to your webserver. |

Could be several things. Right-click on one of the images, select properties and it will tell you where it is trying to find the image.
What program are you using, Frontpage maybe?

To save an entire website, if you can ftp to the site, it is pretty easy to copy the files. If you can't ftp to the site, then you have to use a website copier like HTTtrack. It does a great job of copying. |

maybe i'm missing the gist entirely, but i know that i've had problems with spaces in the file names, sometimes they gotta be all one word.

Success!
Site is now up. Comcast 'help' was no help whatsoever. Don't waste your time with them. Major problem was that I was using the 'publish' function of Nvu Composer to upload ftp. This is a known weakness I found out on Nvu forums after I changed to CuteFTP which is much better. It may become the 1st purchased software on my computer in 30 days time. Thanks . |
