Windows Media and Streaming Video
I've tried to watch streaming video in all three browsers I have installed (Firefox 1.0.4, Opera 7.54, and IE version 5.suck or whatever they are on now) Whenever I try to view streaming video through the windows media plug in (Comedy Central For Instance)) My browser crashes. Clearly this is a problem with windows media player or the plugin and not the browser, since it happens in all three. I'm running Norton Internet Security Professional 2004 with personal firewall and I've tried disabling that with no change. can anybody offer me other suggestions or link me to a roll back of windows media player?

Media Player 10.00.00.3646
I've tried repairing and uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Media Player as well as any plugins associated with it that I can find in add/remove but nothing seems to have helped. I did find out that the problem is in playing the streaming video, not downloading it. I can press the stop button before the buffer is finished loading and then download the file directly usually. it's not the best way, but it works. I'd still like to figure out what the problem is though. Last edited by alpha_hazard; 07-31-2005 at 06:15 PM. |
