Did it all with FrontPage.
Check it out. Took me 3 weeks to get it up and working. Orders are not pooring in yet, but I have received about 20.
I decided to make it a site aimed at people sending flowers in our delivery area. If you want to send them somewhere else, we can take care of that for you to. I recommend going to TheFlowershopNetwork.com and finding a florist in the area where you are sending them...shhh!! dont tell the boss... Anyway..need some of you critics to look it over and find all the errors and report back. Also if anyone has a site that they would like to throw a banner on just for fun...you can get that HERE. Just link it back to the main page. |

Just my personal preference, but I think it would look a bit better if you added the statements to center it.

looks pretty good.
Hal also has a good point, centering breaks up the white space on the right. you could also break it up by keeping the table aligned left and specify the tables background white, while using a light background for the page. |

Ok, some good points made here. The reason I aligned it all left is if you drop the screen resolution down to 800 x 600 or even lower the site appears to be centered with no white space, and no horizontal scrolling. My information tells me that there are a lot surfing at these resolutions and I wanted them to see it the way I designed it.
Personally I prefer atleast 1024 x 768, so I do see what you mean. I think I will leave it like it is for now. Thanks for the input. |

On another forum, I am a moderator in the Website Critique area. Here is what I think:
I really hate to see the credit card icons at the bottom. If you are selling on the Web, then people know that you take credit cards. They kind of spoil your site a bit. I always see the last update on Frontpage sites. I would take this off since a year from now if the site hasn't been updated, the customers will not view this as positive. You could always leave it on and use the <FONT COLOR="#FFFFFF"> to hide it. Also check out this site. It has a great tool for optimizing your meta tags.

I'm not suggesting that you break from using 800X600. I run my laptops at 800X600, so I know how frustrating it is to scroll to read content that's been written at larger screen sizes. I only offered my suggestion as an alternative to centering the table, which can be cool, too...but not always. it was not meant as an insult, as my own design skills aren't that great.
I don't think the suggestion to make your tables resizeable will fit your site either, that works beautifully, but you need more content and you generally need to utilize a left and right tool area or a buffer areas so it doesn't end up looking lopsided. The only things I would change is the justification and spread out your links a bit, the site is clean and straightforward no information overload here! I would cater to the base standard of 800 x 600, which is the minimum that most people use. I think you have done a great job!

Thanks people, I will apply SOME of the advice.
One at a time. I am leaving the tables for now. I like them on the left. The logo sucks and I know it. I am not very good a graphics unless I steal them and change them....:-) Who wants to practice thier design skills? I will give credit on the page somewhere, but cannot pay. As far as the text being to small, I dont follow. Looks fine when I view it at all different resolutions and different browsers. I did consider using stlye sheets and I probably should have. I may do that when I have to revamp the site in a year or so. As far as the navigation goes. People come there for one thing, to buy flowers. I dont want them hunting through sub menus to get to what they need. I have seen more than a few sites that do not except credits card or only except a few. I will leave those as well. I have considered removing the counter or hiding it.(it slows the page from loading at times) The site will be updated atleast on a weekly basis so the last updated thing is not going to be an issue on most of the pages, but I will consider removing those as well. I will spread out the links at the bottom a bit. I was not insulted by anything that was mentioned here. I asked for advice and I REALLY appreciate it. Sometimes you don't see things that others do when you view it as the creator. Thanks again and visit often...

I think it looks good. Very professional, I would buy from this site if I wanted to buy flowers. I think the credit cards at the bottom just make it look a bit more professional looking so if were me I would keep em'. DUST.
