Java/ActiveX problem?

Hi,

Recently many webpages that I have been going to do not display an image (or I'm assuming it's an image), or some type of interactive thing.

i.e.

www.ageofempires3.com everything above register and press I can't see...it's just one large box w/ a small white box in the top left corner w/ a red square, green circle, and blue triangle

also at yahoo's music page, in the artist rating area, there should be some type of buttons I can press...instead it's a small rectange w/ the same white box and shapes inside it

this occurs at many other webpages....i have updated java and set security to medium

i searched everywhere and can't find anything to match my problem

maybe it's flash? i actually do think it's flash, but when i go to the macromedia website and go to dl it, it goes to the download page and nothing happens

What browser are you using? OK here's the thing, the page unto itself is badly coded for Firefox/Mozilla; there is a typo in the location of the flash movie (in case you're interested: embed src="\Splash\main.swf"). If you cannot get it on IE, then you need to download the flash player from here: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash

Yup, sounds like flash.

Try here: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash

the problem was that i tried to dl flash, but i couldn't do it...in time after i posted though, i did find another webpage that said if i have spywareblaster, which i do, to unblock flash, which i didn't realize it was

AND

in the registry there was a key i had to delete, now i was able to dl flash and everything works well

i'm glad that you guys knew the problem immediately though as i have been spending a long time thinking it was java......thanks
