AIM Bandwith

This is going to sound really strange, but just bear with me. I have a friend that is going to college this year, so I won't really be talking to him as often. He refuses to use aim because he feels it is a waste of bandwith. He doesn't really know that much about computers, but I was curious how much bandwith aim actually does use. He is at Penn State this year where they get like 1.5 kb per person. While he might not understand the number very well, he would be able to understand the percentage. If anyone happens to know approximately how much aim takes up, I would greatly appreciate it.

AIM 5.9 uses about 38 bits a second. That's hardly noticeable.

Thanks to this table, heres the link so you can see for yourself: http://www.weatherbug.com/aws/ResourceUsage.htm

The table is at the bottom of the page.

Are you sure it's 1.5kb? That sounds relatively low imo..but ah well.

Hope this helps.

My bad, I wasn't really paying attention. It is 1.5 mb/s. Thanks though. When I tell him it takes up .002% or so of his bandwith, he will probably change his mind.
