Welcome to PCMech, ario
![]() No there isn't. But there are various hitcounter sites that collect the host, screen resolution, and browser information. http://counterstats.com/ is one such site I've looked into in the past.

klunt, the guide works. Read it carefully and follow every step. If you have questions about a particular step, post a question on the forums.

What address are you typing in? Using a default setup (using appserv) you need to type in http://localhost/whateverfile into IE, FF, or whatever you use. Are you getting errors? nothing? what? you aren't going to be able to run mp3s or movies (unless quicktime with .mov, or another plugin that plays certain moves in IE) in your server. It'll pop up as a download, or a media player if the media is able to be streamed.

Yes i get an error
What i type in is http://mydomain.no-ip.org/whateverfile and the error is a Microsoft Internet Explorer error
It says interenet explorer cannot download file from domain(my domain) internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requisted site is either unavailale or cannot be found. Please try again later . Can it be because i changed the name of the file before i added it to my web folder because there was spaces in the name so i figured id take the space away this way i can look it up in IE any . One program for example that i tried to download was winrar and it looks as if its going to start downloading and then it says that error. Thanks for your help. Alex |

Are you using standard ports on the server? Also, what is the exact filename as on the server?

Have some patience. This is a forum not a chatroom.
if "unzip" is the file name, you need a file extension |

If you add the extension to the web address path, does it work?

For an mp3, the extention would be .mp3, and .wmv is for "Windows Media Video" (I think)

Its generally a good idea to always follow the convention http://domain.com/filename.extension
In the exact type (upper/lower case) as the original is (this is for the pickier unix servers). |

You'll have to use .htaccess files (try googling them, I don't remember exactly how they work).
And btw, there ARE logs that show you who has been requesting files from your server, by IP. You can find it in /apache/logs/access.log (using AppServ, C:/AppServ/apache/logs/access.log) |
