persistant popup from this site

I continually get http://a.tribalfusion.com popup whenever I visit this site. I have been around for quite awhile, but it is getting to be a drag to have four or five of the same popups on the taskbar to close. HELP! I am using only the popup blocker with WinXP Pro, but I do use Spyware Doctor.

I just added a.tribalfusion.com to the restricted site list in IE and no more pop ups.

Tools --Internet Options-->Security tab --> Click on the Restricted Sites icon then the "Sites..." button. Type the URL in the texbox and click add.

Excuse me TwoRails, but this is no answer for the question. Without changing the browser, one should be able to get rid of the spyware

First, I don't think AlwaysUp was offended by my post. I think he'd let me know if he were.

Second, my "answer" is simply implied in my post. I give AlwaysUp credit for knowing that Firefox has built in popup protection, plus the quite popular AdBlock extention is a top pick to assist in adblocking, and, as such, didn't feel a need to spell it out for him. It works quite well. I've attached a copy of my list in AdBlock: note that a.tribalfusion.com is on the top.

I'll stop here...

For some reason it seems that I offended tworails, though it wasn't intentional. I never implied that AlwaysUp may or may not be offended, it isn't up to me to see if he os offended or not. it was just that I got the impression that your answer wasn't a solution to the problem in question.

Cheers

I wasn't offended Le Pacha. I was just showing that I did offer one solution. I was amazed that you pointed my post out when it appears that yours does what you thought mine did: offer no solution. I know you don't like Firefox, but that doesn't mean it's not a viable option for others, nor that someone has to use only one browser. I current run 3 browsers, and have a forth (Opera) that I haven't installed yet. I'm also a little amazed, not offended, that you didn't mention that the very first post in response also points to Firefox. -- All said / meant in a friendly fashion.

I run IE 6 with all the critical updates installed. I have limited familiarity with Firefox, but I think I'll give sdkfz's method a go. P.S. I don't offend easily, I sort out advice to what I think fits my question the best and am still appreciative of other suggestions, even though I may not implement. I'll post back when I know weather or not the fix worked. Thx All.

Moderator Note: Le Pacha, bringing up a post that is a couple of weeks old to prove some kind of point is not acceptable around here. Certainly Firefox is one of the options available. When AlwaysUp asked the question I can't really see any ill intent. It was just a simple question. If his reply was something like Why would anyone be so idiotic to use anything but Firefox?, then I can maybe see people getting defensive. In this case, I don't see any cause for the confrontation.

So please keep in civil.
