IE is taking over my computer!!
Ok, so I noticed it a few days ago when things were lagging and so I checked my task manager proccesses and I noticed there were about 7 or 8 copies of IE running, that I couldn't even see. When I decided to print-screen them (of course) I couldnt get that many in the proccesses at one time - oh how eluding when you want it. Here are some pictures of what happens after deleting and while deleting them - does anybody know what's wrong?

I would run Anti-virus programs such as AVG and a anti-spyware program such as Ad-aware - ASAP. I think there are several viruses/worms that rename themselves as iexplore.exe to appear innocent. I may be wrong, but thats the first thing I would do. What do you see under the "Processes" tab?

Wow, how many processese do you have running? That does sound like a virus or spyware, and it is eating away your cpu resources... run some scans and see if that helps any. Do you have an active firewall?

Definitely scan for viruses and spyware, some of those new process popping shouldn't be started by an authentic IE process, and the names sound a bit fishy. You could try searching your system for IEXPLORE.EXE and see what you come up with (other than the real IE)

Could you give me some links to some of the virus/spyware/adware scanners? We already have SB:S&D, Adaware, M$ Antivirus, M$ Antispyware - none of them appear to find anything.

What OS are you running? I only see 2 IE instances in the processes, which would mean that you have 2 Windows open. The other don't really appear that abnormal.

There were no internet explorers running during that print-screen, a few minutes before (before I rebooted) there were about 7 or 8 instances of IEXPLORER.EXE and iexplorer.exe running. I'm on Windows Home SP2.
