People PC Software Question
I have worked on a couple of computers that had this annoying problem. When you log on using their software the first page that opens up says this page cannot be displayed. But if you minimize that page you can click iexplorer and it opens their start page. What is the first page that does not open and can that first thing be disabled?
thanks, alan |

I have a friend that uses PeoplePC and I tried but found that I had to connect with their software. that first page that should come up within their connection/browser software is the people pc homepage for that particular user.

these are not my decisions to make.
these are customer's computers. i am not thrilled with peoplepc, true, but i am not going to advise a customer to change isp. Will someone who uses people pc or has knowledge of it please tell me what the first page is that comes up? is it their homepage as ktkendall suggested? if it is a personal home page perhaps there is a setting somewhere within their proprietary logon deamon which would allow the correction or change of the setting for this first page? anyone else got any ideas? thanks ktkendall and fudtone too.. |

The person whose PC I have worked on several times that uses PPC definately has to use the PPC interface to get connected even though I did find a PPC connection under dial up connections and I tried to use it directly to connect but it always failed, and yes within the interface of PPC connection software window after you connect you get your personal PPC homepage but I do not know exactly how to set that up. Actually I brought the PC here once and used my internet to download the PPC software and get her back up and running. As I remember as long as you use their correct usermane and password to connect with PPC the correct page automatically comes up within the PPC window. After that normal web browsing is just done with IE and email with OE, It really looked to me like PPC software just to connect and see your personal homepage and access your account if need be.
