I don't know if this is the correct board for this message but here goes.
I was wondering how to protect an online folder with a password on a windows plateform. Since I have been told that the .htaccess doesn not work on a windows plateform. I need this type of plateform in order for the ColdFusion to work and I need to protect some folders with a password. Someone gave me this link http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Program...rd_Protection/ saying it has some scripts that can do the job but I haven't found it if its on there. Someone told me that I needed to protect some folders and this is where it has gotten me. Any help appreciated. Thanks! |

Now the only way to get into http://www.mysite.com/subfolder/ is by suppling a Windows username and password. To edit access, right click on the subfolder entry in IIS and this time select Open. Windows Explorer should open to the location. Go up one level (you can do this by pressing Backspace). Right click on the folder in Windows Explorer called subfolder and select Properties. Go to the Security tab. Assign users and permissions as needed! |
