Can Firefox do this?

With IE, you can open a new browser instance (Ctrl+N) and have the same / current page load into the new browser window. In Firefox, you get a new blank window.

So can you make it open the same page in the new window?

TIA

With All-In-One Gestures, you can do that, and do it entirely with your mouse to boot!

This is one of my must-have extensions. Once you get used to moving around web pages using mouse gestures, it is second nature and you can't imagine doing it any other way. I always, always find myself opening Windows Explorer and trying to use mouse gestures to get around; sadly, it doesn't work.

I use an extension called "clone window" and it sole purpose is to do exactly what you are talking about, for windows and/or tabs.

Very nice link, lil Jimmie! I've been wanting to find a list of shortcut keys -- I've been using a variation of that tip, Shift+Click, to open a link in a new window. It doesn't work for opening the very same page in a new window though

I don't know if I'm "talented" enough for that one, doctorgonzo ! I might give it a try and see how bad I can embarrass myself

TennBikeBerk, I couldn't find that one to read it's description.... gotta link?

Thanks (again) juppy - My guess is that's the one.

I feel like saying, "I hope this isn't a dumb question" but I will. There is No download area on that site... only a "Install Now" link. I don't really like when that's the only option, as you can't run a scan, or the like, on the "object."

So, anyone know if that site is OK to let it install stuff?

TIA

Guinea pig reporting for duty! Sorry I didn't post a link, but that is exactly what I was talking about, and I installed my "Clone Window" extension from that very site, without any problems. There isn't really any scanning you can do for the Firefox extensions; you either have to ask other people, or just go for it yourself if the site looks legit.

By the way, I believe all the Firefox extensions are installed through "install now" links, rather than through a download. Firefox will most likely prompt you if you would like to add that site to your "allowed sites" and then you can proceed with the link.

Hey TR
Yeah, I noticed it was an install rather than a download too, and I wondered the same thing, if it was safe. I got to looking around though and they have the same extension on one of the Firefox website pages and I noticed it's authored by that same Pyke person (or Pike or Pikie or whatever it was ). That's why I linked back to his personal site, because it actually gave a better description of what the extension does and everything as compared to what the Firefox site did.

Guinea pig!?! That's funny! LOL -- Ya, I'll be guinea pig #2, but it'll have to wait for a few days: I just installed Firefox 1.5 (yes, it's out, but you have to click on Check for Updates as it's not listed in the download section...) and want to try it out before I make any other changes.
