Pinging

I was kicked out of a few games because my ping rate increased above whoever ran the site wanted. Is there a way I can determine what my ping rate is and make changes to it?

I know on CS it's listed on the scores screen, which you bring up with tab. You should be able to type it into command prompt in the game if its not that easy to find. What game is it DM??

Pinging

If you know yr own IP address go into DOS and enter the command 'ping' followed by yr IP address. Timing of packages will be displayed.

You can't change your ping, unless you move closer to the server. Try to connecting to west coast servers. And in most games it is usually listed on the scores screen.

I beg to differ... you could also change not only the company you link through, but also stopping some processes on your computer can increase the ping

Downloading/Uploading would make your ping go up.. Also if you are running a network and other people are using the same internet line at the same time could have an effect.

In cs : http://lukieno1.tripod.com/Pictures/aim_ak_colt2k1.JPG

The numbers under Latency is your ping. The lower the better.

If you change ISPs then it could get worse, or only better by a small amount. If you stop processes that are using the network, then your ping would get a little better.

jpod, you can't hotlink to tripod.
